This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated guide cannot retrieve official records, conduct official checks, correct or restrict a history, or accept court filings. Only the responsible public office can perform those functions.
Need an Official Record?
Use the custodian that matches the Forsyth County record:
- Court case files: review criminal court cases or call the Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts at 770-781-2120. The courthouse is at 101 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040.
- Criminal histories: contact the Georgia Crime Information Center within the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for statewide personal inspection or correction procedures
- Arrest, booking, and jail materials: contact the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Records Unit at 770-781-3060 or SORecordsUnit@forsythco.com. The main sheriff headquarters is 100 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040, open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; call before visiting because the report archive is associated with the jail-lobby operation.
- Official fingerprint checks: use the Georgia Applicant Processing Service when Georgia law authorizes that channel
- Incident reports: request the report from the agency that created it. Cumming Police records are separate from sheriff records.
- Record restriction and court sealing: follow Georgia's GCIC restriction process and, where applicable, seek sealing from the court that handled the case
For filed criminal documents, mail the Clerk of Superior Court, Attn: Criminal Records, 101 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040, or call 770-781-2120 during the clerk's weekday public hours. For sheriff-created records, use the Records Unit contact above rather than the county's general open-records portal.
