Official Forsyth County records must be requested from the government office that created or maintains them. The routes below distinguish court files from sheriff reports, jail materials, and statewide Georgia criminal-history records.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated guide cannot retrieve official records, conduct official checks, correct or restrict a history, or accept court filings. Only the responsible public office can perform those functions.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that matches the Forsyth County record:

  • Court case files: review criminal court cases or call the Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts at 770-781-2120. The courthouse is at 101 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040.
  • Criminal histories: contact the Georgia Crime Information Center within the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for statewide personal inspection or correction procedures
  • Arrest, booking, and jail materials: contact the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Records Unit at 770-781-3060 or SORecordsUnit@forsythco.com. The main sheriff headquarters is 100 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040, open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; call before visiting because the report archive is associated with the jail-lobby operation.
  • Official fingerprint checks: use the Georgia Applicant Processing Service when Georgia law authorizes that channel
  • Incident reports: request the report from the agency that created it. Cumming Police records are separate from sheriff records.
  • Record restriction and court sealing: follow Georgia's GCIC restriction process and, where applicable, seek sealing from the court that handled the case

For filed criminal documents, mail the Clerk of Superior Court, Attn: Criminal Records, 101 E. Courthouse Square, Cumming, GA 30040, or call 770-781-2120 during the clerk's weekday public hours. For sheriff-created records, use the Records Unit contact above rather than the county's general open-records portal.
